Belted Kingfisher's eye? I have been asked by our local middle school science teacher to do the work for them. I have checked the web and they tell me everything but the color and size. I couldn't tell from the speciman I received what they are.

is correct they carry a dark brown eye.. size around a 8 mm... inject water into the eye and measure with calipers to see what the correct size should be..

I just checked in the book"Advanced Taxidermy" by P.A. O'Connor and the Belted Kindfisher has an 9mm black eye. Incidentally this book has one of the most comprehensive list of eye sizes and color that I have run across.
