I am an animal trainer for motion pictures. I am trying to locate a mounted raven to use for a commercial in Savannah Georgia. They want to film it in a stationary position. After reading what was written about buying/selling one in this forum on an earlier date, I am really frustrated now. Is there any way to have an individual who owns one bring on to a set to be filmed. I am at an impass here because I asked the Atlanta office of US game and fish and they said I could use a raven, but not a crow. Actually the person there did not sound really sure...Jeeeze, these rules drive me nuts. It would seem just so easy to film one just sitting there, but ohhh all the rules. Does anyone know if it is possible. I am really confused because I have seen ravens used for filmwork recently. They also used pied crows legally, so maybe that would work... Help! I have to stay within the regulations but thats so hard when you don't completely understand them.

In Mn we have a crow season as I know several states...Ask Raven he outa know hes always informin bout scanvenger bird laws ,Guess'n he'd be the one to know..
I want to thank all who emailed me or posted a response here. I was actually able to find a taxidermy company in Burbank California that provides mounted animals/birds for the motion picture industry. They even have some very old mounts they claim are grandfathered since their company has been in business for many many years now.
They had a variety of african pied crows with their white feathers dyed black along with any permits needed to legally use them.
So many of you send emails to try to help. Thank you all so very much. If anyone wants to know the company in California, just email me and I will send their name and number to you. They do have a website you can view, along with their history of providing props for the film industry.
