which is better gas or thinner? ive used both and cant really tell much difference except the fumes.

i too have you both & cant realy seee a difference.thinner use to be cheaper but with gas at a $1.75 gal , it is about the same now.


Lantern fuels dont have the additives that car fuel has.

Its probley more personal choice, back years ago gas was stain red to show fuel taxes had been paid on it. That same stain would discolor a bird. So we used white gas that was available at the same station. Coleman also said that auto gas would not work in lanterns and stoves.

I prefer oderless paint thinner, while not oder free it is reduced very much. I know people that use gasoline and thier work is fine.

So its your choice. Now you can strain and reuse the gas, so what is the problem with using it for birds? NONE I see.
