Turkey Tail Spreads

Submitted by MSanders on 04/15/2004 at 20:18. ( ) 209.247.222.46

I am doing my first turkey. My son wants the Tail fan. I am having trouble removing all of the meat & fat from tail base. I am afraid that I am going to harm the feathers. Any suggestions to help me through this step would be greatly appreciated.

Why did you use the term spread?

Seperate the feathers and remove all meat and fat, wash with dawn, dry wit a hair drier, dont over heat. Reassemble the FAN. us either hot glue or bondo to hold the feathers in place. once the bondo is set, you can take lacquer thinner and wet the feathers down and lightly stroke them with your fingers and this will repair the splits.

I don't know why we bother to mention the archives as yours is one of three just alike in the last two days. BUT, If you really want to know, put a legitimate email address or email ME and I'll send you a sheet on just exactly what to do.
