I read in a couple different places that you pin the skin around the eye when you use an artificial head. I used my first artificial bird head and there was no way to stick a pin in the head material. How do you taxi the skin around the eyes and eyelid and hold it in place if you can't use pins? Thanks in advance.

There are some pins that will bite into cast heads. But they don't go deep enough to stay for long periods.
Try this. with one pin pull the eye ring forward of the eye a mm or two and stick it. With a second pin stick the back corner, but don't pull it away from the eye. If your eyes are the right size it should put a little tension on the eye lids and make the eye squinty looking.
With a third pin start pushing the top lid out to where you want it. tuck the bottom lid and push it where you want it.
The next part is a little tricky. with the runny type of Super glue, put a little on a pin. Touch the center of the glass eye and push the super glue to the lid. They must be in their final position when you do this. When the glue touches the eye ring capillary action will suck the glue under the eye ring. Do this in two or three places. It is very important that you don't use too much glue or the same capillary action will suck the glue into the feathers. Always put it on the eye with a pin. Do one eye a wait until it is completely dry before turning it over to do the other eye. This presents some symmetry problems, because the second eye must be positioned exactly like the first before you glue. Look at the eyes from all angles. The pins don't need to be in very long and they won't stay in, if you do try to keep them in. Wait two or three days till the skin is hard before cleaning the eyes. With a sharp point scalpel the glue will come off like a sheet of plastic, and the eyes will clean up nicely. Let me know if this works for you. Good question

I'll give it a try on my next artificial head.
