Need to ship my first client's birds back to him. Any suggestions on how on how to do so.
Base is a 20" x 10" oval with two wood ducks mounted on driftwood ,with cattails and such. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Gary

build a small crate just big enough to fit it in, screw the base solid from the bottom brace it and fill it with paper or plastic bags or anything to take up the x-tra space and take it to UPS they can do the rest

Don't use UPS

Good advice from Randy except the "filler" is not neccesary if you secure the base of the mount well from underneath. Make your crate strong-so it can withstand heavier items/boxes placed on top of it. Also-Use the U.S. mail. It's cheaper. Also- if the mount arrives damaged, good luck on trying to collect an insurance claim from UPS. They won't pay unless you pack to THEIR standards (the method you describe above is not UPS protocal.....................so they will definately not pay. UPS requires 2 inches of bubble wrap around anything fragile and any open spaces be filled with packing peanuts-anythings else is not acceptable.

Been there...............done that!

I was in shipping for 13 years and sad to say you make fragile on UPS box its a target. Best to mark boxes the way they need to be sitting with "this end up" or along that line. And as for the packing material you can use plastic bags thats what we used alot and any damage claims were paid but we were a large account. Just stand yer ground and keep bugging them if you have that problem.
But my suggestion is pack in a crate wrap it up best you can and hope for the best no shipper can get it there looking like a new box but if you made the inside durable you will be fine.

Thanks for the info
