exam

I have mixed feelings. The written test was easy, too easy maybe? I studied my handbook for nothing. Setting the bobcat eye, that was a bummer. No one I talked to seemed overly confident about that part.
The critique was great. Everyone was very nice. BUT I can't believe I have to take a day off work and drive three hours to take a 20 minute test. It was better than I expected but I've been told the odds are fifty-fifty. If I didn't pass I'll try again next time.
My only complaint is: If we can't LEGALLY do any work for anyone else and we can't buy green skins and furs that does't leave us a lot of opportunity to practice much.

3hrs

It took me over 6 hours to get there but I had a plan, this time around I had my wife and kids come along. So I didn't have to drive all that way. Our Birthdays are on the 1st and 3rd of May and our Anniversary is on the duece So we had some quality, well Family time together.Lol Which I haven't had in quite awhiles. Hit construction on 81 and than the beginning of Rt 80 and once we cleared that .rt 80 was closed off because of a terrible accident. A 18 wheeler and a small car over the railing .Helecopters and all. Felt I did well. At the test this time . Actually a pleasant expierience . Thank's to the examining board And it's now in the hands of the jury. Took 5hrs with no traffic to return home . Thank GOD for the safe trip.

The odds are 100%

If your work is anatomically correct, clean, no excessive shrinkage. And detailed properly. It will pass. if it is not it is 100% sure not to pass. If you found setting bobcat eyes difficult. You probably are not going to pass the test. If one does not have the skill to set bobcat eyes, they are surely lacking in other areas. Setting eyes is one of the most basic parts of taxidermy. And should take no more than a few minutes.
Ernie< I wish you all the luck this time around. We have talked on this matter before, And I know what a rough time you have had. I sincerely hope this is the time for you.
