Twisted Feather Tips

I just recently tumbled a pheasant in my tumbler. The tips of the feathers got cought in the front of the tumbler and twisted the feathers. Is there any way to straighten this out where they will look smooth again?

all over. You did not mention which feathers, so I suspect that it is either wing or tail feathers. You can steam them until they are moist and then straighten, but if there are a number of feathers involved, this is a tedious task. I would wash the bird again and let it soak some such that the quills are soft again. They should straighten out some on their own, but you can then manually attempt to straighten. If they are "twisted" to the point that the feather quills are also twisted and broken you will have a more difficult task, but the above process can still improve the situation significantly. Good luck.
