Bringing birds to US from Argentina

I may not have put the correct wording in the archives to get this answer. A friend of mine is soon going to Argentina on an upland and waterfowl hunt and wants to bring some species back for me to mount. I know an FDA approved shop has to get involved but how would I get the nearest shop to my area info and what is involved in brings them back to the US. Thanks.

Is it worth the hassle to deal with imported waterfowl or do we set ourselves up for more visits from the F&W or feds?

U.S.D.A.

You need to get in touch with the Department of Agriculture in your state, Veterinarian services. You will need something to burn the waste products from the birds a few disinfectant chemicals, they will tell you what you need, they will come and inspect your facilities, Fee's are around two to three hundred dollars. You will also need an import license from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, About Twenty five dollars.
Hope this helps.

Thanks

I realized later that I had said FDA rather than USDA. Not sure it's worth the hassle. My friend would probably expect big discounts on them anyway!LOL
