Help needed with Parrot

Submitted by TJ on 06/11/2004 at 16:54. ( ) 205.201.40.228

Attempting to do my first parrot, if you don't count that cockatiel, something went horribly wrong there lol:) Anyway, doing my research I noticed that the pupil appears larger on these birds than most, does anyone know if there are any suppliers that carry eyes for this type of bird - Blue Fronted Amazon - or should I just order the eyes with the larger "owl" like pupil..? If theres a specific eye that any of you can recommend, that would be great..
Also, I usually pin my wings, this is what didn't look right about the cockatiel, so I'm going to try wiring this time...any thoughts on if this is the way to go with this type of bird..?
Any help appreciated

Amazons

One of the beauties of Amazon parrots is that when they become excited , their pupil will dilate to less than half the original size, than when they are in a relaxed attitude.

Yes wire the wings, remove the flesh via an incision umder the wing to help retain the secondary flight order, and pump those wing bends slightly out from the body to get attitude.
Remember the bends in the legs, they do not sit straight legged like waterfowl, and always wrap stong thighs .
Pose him with the head a lttle down and use quality tricolor pheasant or canvasback eyes and you will have something special.

Thanks
