Bald Eagle reproduction help

i was wondering if i can use a black spanish hen turkey for my body and a white turkey tail and white chicken feathers for the head. i looked around and all i can find is info on using a dark colored or toulouse goose but i looked at toulouse geese and they dont look like a bald eagles color to me. or should i buy one of those white geese and dye the body black and if so what would i use to dye it. please let me know asap i plan on starting it soon. thanks

Breakthrough did a "How to" on this subject

a couple years ago....do a search on Breakthrough's website and you should be able to find it. The author used Canada Goose for the dark parts and white rooster for the face and head...looked pretty real. Good luck.

...get a copy of the Newmyer book titled, "Predator Taxidermy", Jim Day does a "how to" with great photos of the process and good instructions. You can order it from WASCO (ISBN 0-925245-45-3)

actually you're correct about Breakthrough. It's in issue 71 Spring 2003. Jeff F.
