Pheasant Feet and Goose Wings

I recently mounted a beautiful blue goose in a standing position with his head semi-upright and he looks really good and he has been done for about a week now. I checked on him to make sure feathers weren't moving today, and I could smell some odor coming from his wings, it isn't so bad you can't take it, but it just smells a little funky. I skinned the wings way down to the last joint and removed all flesh from the bones, boraxed the insides of the wings heavily as well as put a dry preservative in there, then shot them full of caulk to rebuild the muscle tissue. Would anyone happen to have an idea of what could be stinking or if you think I'm going to have to throw him out, or if there is a way to stop it? Because I don't want a bad mount contaminating all of my other mounts I've worked so hard on. Any help is appreciated. Thanx, Dana

Did You Skin the Wrist

There is some meat in the last joint that should come out. If you didn't skin it out you can inject it with formaldehyde, It will kill the bacteria that is causeing the smell and will deter it till the joint is good and dry.
