I have searched the archieves and have not found an easy explaination of how to mount a bird that will be secured to the ceiling. I have 4 to do for a customer and cannot walk myself through the process. I can figure out how to set the final support wires through the body form and out the back (I am assuming prior to sewing up the incision). I have figured out that you can make a loop in the wire to actually hang the bird. But my major question is how do I actually support the bird while I am working on the mount? May be an obvious answer out there but I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I use a pipe with holes drilled in it. One hole goes completely through so a support wire can be slid through it. A hole is drilled perpendicular to that hole and then threaded so that a bolt can be screwed in to pinch the "pass through" wire and hold it stable. I use this mounting tree on all my flying birds. For a ceiling flier, I leave the protruding wire intact and while the bird it preened and adjusted, carded and taped, it stays bolted to the tree with its belly out. Once it dries, I remove it from the tree, cut the wire, and then turn the tag end into a loop to hold the monofilament. I usually use two wires to keep the bird from spinning, but the second wire can be cut and curled when the mounting is complete. You only need a single wire to work the bird on the tree.
