Maybe a Game Farm

Mike, I was thinking you might be able to buy a couple of roosters from a game farm or shooting preserve, because they have to keep them in pretty good shape so that they look nice for their hunters so they might have some pretty good specimens running around there! I only know a handful of people in Iowa that raise pheasants, so my knowledge on where to buy them is limited. If there is no rush on getting them, you can always raise them for yourself or go harvest a couple, and I have the names of several hatcheries from when I used to raise quail that you could get some chicks from. If you are interested just write me an e-mail and I'll give you some names. Good Luck, Dana

You're not gonna find a bird worth mounting this time of year. Regardless of where it comes from! Unless it was harvested as a mature bird during the appropriate time of year. Even if the bird is over a year old and carried over from last season... summer birds just aint worth the hassle! You no doubt want good birds for your hard earned money!

Best of luck.

Thanks
