Frank N. bird bodies

I normaly use a different brand of body, but I decided to go ahead and use an extra Frank Newmeyer widgeon body and I could hardly get a wire through the foam...I finally had to drill holes to get the wings and legs anchored in. Yes, my wires were razor sharp and I'm not exactly a week person! Is this the norm for the Frank Rigid bodies? Any tricks to make it easier? THANKS!

Rick, after you sharpen the wires, heat the tip with a lighter, and it will slide right through the body for you.

If you think Franks are bad

Try Stefans..... It's all in the batch of foam... sometimes they just come out with a harder outer shell than others.... but I have never had a problem with Franks, but Stefans have sent me for some loops from time to time.

Drilling the hole, or heating the wire, aren't bad advice, but even as tough as they may be, I don't think I've ever run into one where a simple pair of Needlenose pliers wouldn't do the trick to push it on through.

Good Luck
Jon

I too get most of my wires in using needle nose pliers, the only real problem for me is when I am using a small gauge wire for wing support on a standing bird... otherwise pliers work great.
