It took me a long time to figure it out but thats the way I have been doing it for the last 15 years. You only get a couple of chances to get your wing set just right though, because your wire is not permanatly set in your form the more you move the wire or bend it the looser it becomes. Once you figure it out it is so simple and quick it will speed you up considerably. E-mail me for my phone # and I will explain in detail.

It is a common way

to support your wing attitude. However, it does not replace the wing wire on the inside of the wing. Once the wing is wired and attached to the manikin in the usual way and positioned in the general attitude you desire, an additional wire is pushed into the manikin underneath the wing on each side. The wire is bent in such a way to provide the support and attitude you desire. The feathers are groomed and carded or taped. When the wing is dry, the exterior wires, cards and tape can be remnoved. Good luck

Did you

Forget to wire the wing? I'm assuming you mean wire after it is sewn up? if so you can still wire it but not the best way. Push the wire through the wrist and into the body. Angle it to the bare spot under the opposite wing. Make a small slit in the bare spot push the wire out and bend it into a J pull it back through the body. Otherwise open it up and do it right.

I hear what your saying
