I have done several birds now and everytime I inject the feet it looks like it doesn't puffen up or anything, is this normal or am I doing somthing wrong.

I do not want to ask a dumb question but some people have done things like this. If you are injecting a fresh bird they should plump up and you will see it plump. If they are dry then no way will it work. Just a thought.

Well I do a lot of feet and I do the wet..the whole trick is to leave a vent hole in em so that the slight heat and exspasion blows the water out..never had a problem..I pre pin and double inject then let em hang.... Cannot imagine doing dried feet? How?
Would using Edolan-U stop the feet from shrinking or shoud you use something else?
Mike : I do not think edoln-u will stop shrinkage but if you know where I can get edolan-u I would like to know.A easy way to greatly reduce shrinkage is a mix of formalin and white glue. you can get it at Flynns taxidermy supply.
You can buy Edolan-U directly from Mobay Chemicals, Post Office Drawer 2855, U.S ByPass 21, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730. $11.69 a pound...
I tried using clear latex caulk. The same stuff you would use to do fish fins. The feet ended up being the best I have ever done. And from now on that is all I'll use. I believe that if you used either preserve it or some type of formalyn based liquid first to bug proof them than ,use the caulk. this would give great results.
I used to use formaldahide/glycerine mixture but still had some shrinkage. I tried preserve it and it did work but still some minimal shrinkage. When I used Caulk it dried within a week and no shrinkage at all. Good luck!
First are you using Latex or Silicone Caulk.... Second how do you Inject it?
