Does anyone know how to tann a bird skin with only house hold chemicals and stuff. I live in Kabul where I don't believe it is possible to get all the stuff that people mentioned.

That is sold in the grocery stores here in the US. Anyhow it is in the laundry detergent aisle here in the states. That is what alot of guys use on birds. It is 20 Mule Team Borax.

Using borax is not tanning. If you are mounting a bird borax is all you need, but thats not considered tanning. Borax is only intended to help dry up the bird and keep the bugs out until the drying is complete.
