torn wings

I am having trouble in that I cut holes in my wings while removing the meat. I might just be going to fast and not taking the proper care that I need to...anyway someone told me just to use fermaldahide(thats probably spelled wrong) and inject the bottom portion of the wing...any suggestions or comments on that? Thanks in advance

You must remove the muscle...

..or it will rot--formalin mixtures are for when all else fails. Probably you're not separating the quills from the lower bone (like an ulna). Just take your thumbnail and carefully work your way down to the joint--you'll hear a crunching sound. And use sharp blades for skinning.

Formaldehyde

Regarding formalin,(a derivative of formaldehyde) my suggestion is that you do not use it at all on your bird work. It is a profoundly caustic chemical and not designed to replace proper removal of muscle and fat. Take your time and skin the wings properly - it takes some practice. Formaldehyde has been used along with glycerin as an injection fluid for bird feet, but now there are far better and safer chemicals. If you are intent on using it, and can find it, be sure to wear safety goggles, gloves and mask as the fumes are also caustic.

Dont use it

Dont use it. Formalin takes forever to dry. That along with what the other people said, its just worth getting all the muscle out.
