Submitted by Rick on 8/24/04 at 5:46 PM. ( ) 207.230.142.240

I would like to build a paint booth in my garage! I hit the orange button and didn't get the answers I'm looking for! I don't have thousands of dollars to do this! This would be Just for birds, no fish! Could somebody please tell me what type of suction fan I should buy and where, duct work I might need and anything else you can think of? Thank you very much for your help!

We use a simple exhaust fan like the one over your cook stove. You can cut a hole in the side of your garage and vent it out that way.

Will that be enough to move the fumes?

I guess I've read that you need more than a Fleet Farm type kitchen exhaust fan? Where did you buy your at Mike? Thanks! Anybody else?

i need something to remove the fumes, right now i have a few fans by a window which is ok for now but will need some sort of exhuast system like for your stove, but not sure where to get one at.

I put a 3 spd 24" box fan in the window, by hanging it there with wire hinges, works great and I can open or close the window when needed.

Get yourself a blower setup that has the squirrel wheel in it. The setup I built has a blower attached to a Dayton motor. The motor is a 1/3hp. with 1140rpms. This setup will suck a golf ball through a garden hose. It's quiet and will remove all paint spray, plus remove all the vapors when I'm doing my artifical water, or the two part foam I use for habitat construction. The only thing that cost me for this setup was the sheetmetal and sheetmetal duct work I had to buy. I found the blower and motor in the trash.
