Motor for Tumbler

I am trying to make my own tumbler and have everything together, but I am having a problem finding a motor that runs slow enough to give me the 15-20 rpm on the barrel. I have the biggest pulley I can find on the barrel and the smallest one on the motor. Any suggestions?

Does motor have a gear reduction on it?

Does your motor have a gear reduction on it? With a gear reduction on the motor you should be able to get rpms down to the 29 - 30 rpm range on a 1725 rpm motor then it is only a matter of the right spockets on your motor and tumbler shaft. Check Ebay or Graingers. Hope that helps

Do this

You need to put on more reducing pulleys. motor to pulley on shaft, second pulley from shaft too barrel pulley. you can get any RPM you want at the barrel. Mark

you are going to tumble bird skins 15 rpm is as high as you want to go. Slower is better.
