g'day,, My current project is to try mount a finch,, i have skinned out birds this small before,,but have never attempted to mount one,, could anyone please offer any help with this little bloke,, i was thinking maybe i could apply super glue to the legs and feed ,i dont think i could get wire small enough.. thankyou,,i will appreciate any help..regards Mark,, Canberra, Australia

Floral wire works great for the feet. I think I've used 28 gu all the way up to 18 gu on larger "small" birds.
They are easier than ya think.

Open and strip any electrical flex and you will find a host of copper wire of various gauges soft and pliable for little birds.
Always remove whatever tendons you can from the legs to allow any space you can on little birds like finches. If you are clever enough to sand a small body out of urethane foam, superglue the seam close rather than try to stitch.
