I like to bag mine in a garbage bag and sqeeze all the air out and tape it up. Repeat using a second garbage bag. I have mounted ducks that have been wrapped this way and frozen for 4 years...no problems! The important part is to make sure that you have it double bagged and sealed with all the air out of the bag.
was a greater bluebill that had been in the freezer for 22 years. Wrapped properly, and stored in a deep freeze, than can last many years.
James' method of wrapping should be more than sufficient.
Just remember not to keep the bird in the freezer over the refridgerator. Those are the best choice of freezers... get a cheap deep freezer if you plan on keeping birds for an extended period of time.
