I believe you mean how to make a repro feather to use in suspending a bird in a mount. You start with a piece of flat stock steel and grind it down to the rough shape of a feather and then smooth grind it on a sanding belt until you have the shape you want. Then use a Dremel tool to put in the details. Weld one end of the "quill" to a wire you want to put in the body for support then weld the other end to a rod strong enough to support the bird in your diorama.Paint the feather with primer then color it to match the ajoining feathers and ...voila! Nothing to it.....good luck JL.
