Does anyone have any tips on figuring the size of glass eye needed before skinning the bird out? I am just starting out and don't want to buy a ton of eyes that I am never going to use, but would like everything that I need ready when I get going on the bird. I don't want to have to wait for days for the eyes to come in. I would appreciate any advise. Thanks.

of bird is it?
......They have charts for eyes sizes in their catalog that just may come in handy for you. Call or e-mail them if you do not already have one.
Matuska's Supply also carries a handy tool called "The Measure Rite". Its small calipers that measures in Milimeters. They're out of Spirit Lake,Iowa
Get yourself a good set of calibers that reads in millimeters, and measure the (Iris) of the animal, fish or bird your doing. WASCO sells an instrument called a Measurite, that reads in millimeters. But a good set of calibers in your shop, is something you should never be without.

how would you measure a bird's eye with a "caliber"?
Set the calipers on MM. Then measure the color part of the eye. (The Iris). Then I take a second measurement to make sure they're the same. Now you have the correct eye size for what ever your mounting.
