Dirty Fox rug

Hello,
Im from Germany.
I have a taxidermy Red-Fox-Rug, but he is very dirty and smelly.
Its a verry,verry old Rug(Fur) and very many People watch over the Rug in all the Years.
Who can I clean the Rug?
In the Washmaschine or in a Bath of hot Wahter?or...?
