sorry never heard of a ringbill.......ringneck yes
Ringbill is a "slang" term for Ring-necked Duck just like "green-head" is slang for Mallard drake.
I always wondered why they named it the "Ring-necked" duck, when you can barely see the ring around its neck! Just like the "red-bellied" woodpecker, who only has a bit of light red on its belly that you can barely see. Crazy bird people (lol!)
Picky aint they?/ Drop me a line after this weekend..I am going to slapp a few..If your not looking for a perfect late season I can help ya out...
Greenhead hell greenbean.ganser,shipokefarkle.whistle.ditch parrot,ditch tiger....
toooo funny! I've never heard of a ringbill either...lol. Of course, who hasn't heard of a green-head? Who knows, maybe ya' shot a scaup and just don't know the difference ey? Aren't them there scaup known as bluebills...LOL. But ringbill...hmmmmmm....maybe ya made that one up..maybe not but i've been into waterfowlin' for 30 years and never heard it called that....just a thought.
Where I am from we call ringnecks..." ringbills"
wood ducks...."woodies"
mallards..."greenheads"
redheads...."tuna boats"
So i guess what i should have said is RINGNECKS
