I built my own from parts I got from Stephan Savides of Avian Design. I had a soft touch and a Van Dykes but got rid of them after using Stephan's during a workshop at his place. He has the entire unit or parts for them at his place. They aren't cheap but are second to none. I was fleshing a smelly turkey this afternoon. Customer had not taken care of it after hunt and it had soured when I got it in March. I wasn't sure it could be saved so I skinned it immediately and froze it till today. While fleshing it, I let a string of membrane wrap around the shaft and it jerked the entire skin out of my hands and wrapped it around the shaft. The speed of the unit is slow and it stopped the wheel till I could shut off the power and unwind it. I didn't lose a single feather or have any tears! Stephan uses a coarse wheel on a low speed motor(1100 rpm or so). Best I have ever used and due to a neck injury, I have some numbness in my hands so it really works well for me.
