Tweezer search....

I have the "perfect" set of tweezers that I know are going to get dropped on the floor and ruined some day, and then, well, I'll just have to quit stuffing birds. I can't find a taxidermy supplier that has them anymore. I've had them about 6 years, don't remember where I got them (probably Van Dykes) but they're 5" long, smooth stainless, about 1/2" wide at the base but taper to very fine points,. They have a double "AA" on one side and "asco" on the other. I've searched some companies on the web, but the nearest I've found are $50 (or more) micro or surgery ones and I know that's not what I have. Anyway, I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to look. Thanks.

Try fly tying products. I got a pair from them that sounds like what your looking for.

I got several different pair of them at a shop where they sold metal detectors, and gold panning supplies, or shops that are in the jewelery business. I think I paid $8 a pair for mine.

Thanks guys...

I'll try both suggestions, although I haven't seen any "gold panning" supply stores here in IL! Wish we did...

check out "rio grande", it is a jewelry and beading supply company that has lots of tools for sale. tweezers, riffler files, small modeling tools, ( they call them wax modeling tools). Some of the stuff is spendy, but most is reasonable and no junk.
