Owl Ankle Position

Submitted by Bob on 10/18/04 at 3:11 PM. ( ) 69.66.70.81

I have a great-horned owl to mount for a nature center. It will be mounted standing essentially staight up on a post. Can the feet be positioned with the ankles locked or should there be a little flex in the joint? Thanks for the help.

Bob, maybe jay was trying to say they should be flexed slightly to give a more realistic appearance. Or at least, that's the way I do them.

slightly bent is best. Locked strait is OK. But hyper- extended is a no,no. Much depends however on what he is doing.
