hi,
I am a beginning taxidermist and I have a drake wigeon and a drake gadwall to mount. I was wondering what would be the best form to use for these ducks...and what artificial head. I was looking at the Cally Morris and the Joe Ferebee types. I also have a pheasant and canadian goose to mount. Any suggestions on a good form to use for these birds and I would also like to have a suggestion on what to use for the necks of the birds. Any suggestions will be greatly aprreciated. Thank you.

First off, you don't have a "canadian goose", it's a CANADA goose. As for the forms and the heads, that's going to be an area you have to experience to appreciate. It's what happens after you mount them that's important. A good form in bad hands won't make a show mount.
Sorry about the spelling error. I was just looking for answers from taxidermists that HAVE had experience with them and was wondering which form has givin them the best luck. Im no expert taxidermist by all means. Im just starting and asking for info. And yes...i probably wont be so successful on my first bird like you said but, i was just wondering what form has givin other taxidermists the least problems....sorry again george.
His line of heads and bodies are awesome...

I like Cally Morris bodies and Ferebies heads. I took a ribbon in 03 at the world with those supplies.
Ferebee bodies for waterfowl, we use Cally Morris on all our turkeys, I know you didn't ask, but Tochikan has the best eyes..
Good luck with your first bird..I still have my first bird mount, a ringneck~which by the way, is a good starter bird..It's funny but at the time I thought he was GREAT..now I look at him and chuckle but all the same..I'm still going to keep him..everyone got to start somewhere..
Good luck to you..

I really like ferbee bodies but do use some of Savides and Morris bodies at times. Buy several of each and try them out. I also use a body that is a little smaller than what came out of the bird. This leaves room for soft filling and a fuller looking bird. My opinion only. Above all use lots of reference and have fun. My best, woodie.
take a course from a respectable bird specialist and make your own bodies
