Wire wheel

Want to know exactly what is a wire wheel. As far as I could understand from different postings, this is a round shapped wire (metallic wires)brush installed at a motor that rotates the brush. If I am right, does this not tear the skin. Please explain.
Thanks

A wire wheel is as you guessed. It will not tear the skin if you don't hold it in one spot too long, or press to hard on the skin when you push it into the revolving wire wheel. Hold and press just enough to remove the unwanted membrane/fat/meat. It takes some practice but most catch on rather quickly, especially when the dang thing grabs the skin right out of your hand and takes the whole thing for a spin. LOL

Never had that happen?
