Tag them just like your customer birds.

We are no exception to the rules.

Now here is something you need to think about.

One Game Warden may apply any unskinned birds to your possesion limit.

The next may not.

I would breast the bird out, that way you have started on it!

I know a few taxidermist that have been ticketed for over possesion limit this way.

Read the Reg's....

Posession limits terminate upon depositing birds with a "preservation facility" (taxidermist). As long as you don't "deposit" more than a daily limit per day, those birds cease to be part of your "posession". But yes, you will need to log them in the same as customer's birds are. Read closely and do the paper work accordingly...

Depends on the state!

In my state you do not need to tag your own birds or log them in the customer journal! Of course, they do count towards your posession limit! It's also a good idea to keep your customers birds seperated from your own birds!

It's FEDERAL regs, not State...

Your state doesn't have anything to do with it as these are federal regulations. Having a "State" officer inspect you and having a "Federal" officer inspect you are two different things. A "fed" can come from anywhere and will expect your shop to be abiding by the CFR (code of federal regulations) and it doesn't matter if you're in TX, CA, IL, ME, etc...
