Painting bills

I've got a wood duck drake, and during the drying process the bill lost some color where the bill meets the head. I was wondering if you can paint it or not, and what kind of paint to use.

Thanks!

Are you using the real head?

If so it will lose color. This happens when anything dies, it loses color. I would highly recommend artificial heads to cut down on shrinkage. And you can paint them before mounting the bird.

What about paint?

But can I paint the real bill or not?

Yes you can paint it really you HAVE to paint it! As stated in the above post ALL bills needd to be painted.
We use lacquer paint folowing the lines on the bill you will need yellow, white, red and black.
Good Luck,
Kim
