need lead wire

Does anybody know where I can find some 16-20 gauge lead wire? I want to use it for doing small birds like snipe, woodcock, quail and doves b/c it bends so easily and doesn't make the small birds look so stiff. I have looked everywhere for it (locally and internet). Any websites or phone numbers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Rob

remove the wire and heat it, I toake it to white hot and then it is far more softer. that should do what you need it to.

a couple of options?

Rob , I've been doing this for almost 40 years and I've never had a problem with regular wire . Even if you do find lead wire , I dont think you'd be able to push it in a joint . For birds that size , you shouldnt have any problems with 16 or 18 gauge , 20 gauge is for sparrow sized birds . Rick

Copper wire

Copper wire will work well, especially for necks and can be used for wings. I would never use it for leg or support wires. I would never use lead wire. It just doesn't have the strength. and will break after bending a few times.
