Does anybody know where I can find some 16-20 gauge lead wire? I want to use it for doing small birds like snipe, woodcock, quail and doves b/c it bends so easily and doesn't make the small birds look so stiff. I have looked everywhere for it (locally and internet). Any websites or phone numbers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Rob

remove the wire and heat it, I toake it to white hot and then it is far more softer. that should do what you need it to.
maybe solder?..or most hardware stores have rebar wire..used to tie rebar together..bends easily..not sure what guage it is though
Rob , I've been doing this for almost 40 years and I've never had a problem with regular wire . Even if you do find lead wire , I dont think you'd be able to push it in a joint . For birds that size , you shouldnt have any problems with 16 or 18 gauge , 20 gauge is for sparrow sized birds . Rick

you need annealed wire does not have memory, can get I beleive home depot sells 16 Gauge for doing reber tying for $3.00 for a pretty big spool hope this helps.
Copper wire will work well, especially for necks and can be used for wings. I would never use it for leg or support wires. I would never use lead wire. It just doesn't have the strength. and will break after bending a few times.
