Good morning........ I Have a Brant for a customer. He whants a flying pose, The problem is it was shot in the Humerus bone. What was left of the humerus came out in little pecies. Is there something I could use to make a Humerus? I was thinking of a small wooden dowlrod inserted into to the stub of the joint & superglued. Thanks for your opinion.....

If broken wings kept us from mounting birds we would be out of business. If one wings Humerus is intact measure it and build one the same length on the other side. wire hot glue cotten and thread are what you need for this. If both wings are broken try this. bend the wing where the humerus meets the radius and ulna measure to the end of that joint and you will be close enough. The next time you eat chicken wings look at these joints and you may see what I mean. In other words make that bone a little longer than the length of the Radius and Ulna I have mounted birds without Humerus bones before. It can work also.

Ask for the cut off tips when he is cutting off carbon arrows to size. They are anywhere from four to six inches long and make great replacement wings. more so if the wing is just busted. slid a piece on one end then the other, a little epoxy and instant wing.
