perhaps you can wrap your bird in damp paper towels and put in back in the freezer. Looking at all your questions, I suggest getting some books, a video, take a class.
You are doing a disservice to yourself by using this forum as an Introductory Course to Bird Taxidermy.

We all started some where

Scapula is Latin for Shoulder Blade. Scapular means- Of or pertaining to the Shoulder Blade. Good Luck

Thanks scanman

Thanks for the info. I do have a book about taxidermy, but going back to my previous questions, the book did not explain some things so this forum was the next best thing to calling every taxidermist in my area for answers. My bird is already finished, and I just did not know what scapular meant.

The scapulars are a tract of feathers that are found at the wing body junction. They are not part of the wing, although they may look similar to the tertials which are the wing feathers closest to the body. Scapulars are generally a bit shorter than the tertials. All feather "tracts" have a function and a name, you should learn them. If you ever get so far as competition, you will find a good judge will use the proper names for the tracts. If you don't know them you will have no idea of what is going on.

Scapulars are feathers

Scapulars of a bird refer to the area of feathers where wing meets body. Scapula is a shoulder blade - 'scapulae' is plural and 'scapular' in osteology would indicate a region as Scanman suggested (eg injury to the scapular region). So 'scapulars' as it pertains to bird taxidermy would mean "feathers of the shoulder region".

DOH! Thats what I get for gettin distracted - LOL!
