I am a complete beginner, never attepted taxidermy before, but i am interested in birds and would like to try. What equipment do i need to start out? just a razor blade? do i need to put something on the skin to stop it rotting?

How do you deal with the wings, are the bones and flesh left in or somehow do you take it all out?

What is a fairly basic beginners book that i can buy?

Dave

The best thing to get

Order the "Bird Mannual from Breakthrough". Everything will be explained in there, from skinning to fleshing, preserving the skin to mounting and finishing. Best investment you can make at the moment.

It will also tell you what tools to get. Have fun reading.

Get the WASCO catalog. 1-800-334-8012

look for the Breakthrough Bird Taxidermy Manual. That book is filled with a wealth of knowledge. Read it over and over and use it for reference to look back on. There are also alot of videos to choose from. Also the orange button on the side of your screen type in bird taxidermy and see what pops up.

Good luck,
Todd B
