I've got three band tailed pigeons that I'm going to mount. I can't decide whether to skin the bird all the way to the beak or to make either a nape or a throat incision. When skinning all the way to the beak is there some sort of technique that works for you to get the skin right side out?
Thanks for all the help!

You can go all the way to the beak. The heads will turn without having to split the back of the head, or split the neck. Just take your time around the eye's and you'll be fine

Run a long piece of thread through the nostrils... Then you can pull on the thread to pull the head back through after you invert it.
