I was just wondering if you can mount a bird with wing pin feathers. I recieved a Chilio Wigeon from someone early july and just took him out today to thaw for mounting and as I was pulling his wings out to look at her I found pin feathers on the wing.... I would love to mount this bird for I don't know when I'll get the chance to get another one, and also thought a partly open wing / grooming pose would be a good one for her.. if the pin feathers can be saved... do I have any chance on that?
Thank you for your help!

If the wings have pin feathers, the body will have them too. They are a pain and will fall out left and right...even for years to come when you dust the bird. The feathers will look rough, even if you groom it well. That being said, you can give it a try... It will not look like a show bird, but it might look OK to the average person.
