Thank you for your help. To finish this bird I started with the medium blue eyes recommended by the supplier. Using colors on hand I painted the eyes with burnt umber(71) to which I added drop-wise intense red (280) and ocean blue (501)mixed to a purple color. This yielded a dark brown with a hint of purple and a barely discernable pupil. In the future I will paint flint eyes for barred owls. Thanks again for taking the time.

Old Strix has eyes that look like two black holes. It always sounds funny when the Purple/brown is mentioned, but I don't know any other way to describe it. Like I said, we usually cast our own eyes. I have mixed universal resin pigments and added them to clear resins to cast barred owl eyes that are very effective, since the resin is translucent and gives the eye depth.
