On McKenzies web site they show how cally morris mounts his turkey leg to a turkey body. I just have a quick question about his procedure. How do you get the skin on over the legs? It seems like he mounts the legs permanently prior to putting the skin back on. does he have to cut the skin around the leg and then sew or glue it back together? Any help would be appretiated

Cally and many bird taxidermists don't make a ventral cut, rather a case cut on the bird. He cuts from one knee joint, across the anus to the other knee joint. It takes a little longer, but the results look much better since the only sewing is done up the legs and across the the butt of the bird.
the cut isnt made across the anus. it is indeed made from one knee to the other, but it goes straight across the belly.
i know what is what george was trying to imply....just didnt want greg to get confused.
thanks for the help
Come on guys.....Think about the anatomy of a bird... Its not the "knee joint".
What joint is it ?
Did someone say JOINT Alex?..........what is a Tibia?
