Wash with Dawn dish soap rinse and us Winks Stain remover while the bird is in water. It should get rid of any blood or iron stains.

What ratio do you use with water and Winks?

Last year I received a beautiful RED Ross' goose. Its white feathers were completely soaked in blood, but all I did was wash it with Dawn dish soap. All of the blood rinsed right out. I hope you have good luck too with your geese.

Winks

While the bird is floating in the rinse water lift the part that is stained and squirt a stream of Wink right on the stain let it set for a few seconds and rinse it out. It is a mild acid and should not be left on the feathers or skin very long. Stain will disappear as you watch. If stain remains reapply. Once you have all the stains rinse thoroughly.

If the blood if fresh and not set Dawn will work great. Winks works on blood stain that is set.

Removing blood stains from Snow Gooses white feathers

I wash the goose in Dawn first and cool water, then rinse. Then rewash in Dawn, and oxi-clean for the second bath, let soak for 20 minutes, and rinse again. Somebody told me about oxi-clean ( you can buy it at Wal-Mart) a couple of weeks ago, and it seems to work very well.
