O.K. guys and gals, I pressed the orange button on this one but did't get what i was looking for. Took in a male pheasant against my better judgement, usually use hydro-paint when airbrushing. Need tips on what colors to get for the beak and legs. Will be using an artificial head. Do i need to ruff it prior to putting on base sealer? Gloss or satin top coat sealer? All help appriciated.

The legs will probably be OK with just a matte finish on them. There are paint schedules in the archives.
Legs...White out, nuetral gray, shade with brown and dark red...wash with special walnut stain...Beak...Ivory white, a little nuetral gray, shade with dark brown, candy yellow, candy medium green and Silver Pearl...This is just what I use of course...
The first thing to do is to get some reference to help with. I like to use Wildlife Colors. They can be purchased from McKenzie or Van Dykes. For the legs start with nuetral grey. Then seal with a matte finish. Then use some black and brown waterbase paint and thin this down and use it as a wash over the feet to bring out the scale detail. This is just brushed on and wiped off. Use a little raw umber to darken the bottom of the feet.
For the beak use the same nuetral gray and darken the bill. Then use some ivory to lighten up. depending on your reference you can use some yellow ochre, neutral grey to tint. For your wattles use tangerine orange and go over this with napthol crimson. Remember reference is your best guide in painting. Hope this helps.
