How do you break in a new brush on a bird flesher?

I just need to know a few methods of breaking in a new wire wheel on a bird flesher. Ive heard you must break them in, and you dont have to break them in. I know ill get some good input here.

A good screwdriver..

Turn it on and run a screwdriver over it for few minutes that will break it in..

works well too. MAKE SURE you clip any and all stray wires before you put a skin to it..

touch your finger to it when it's moving, and if you don't get cut it should be good to go... HEHEHEH.

I started with a 2x4 like Jon, but it didn't get it where I wanted it, so I used a brick, still didn't like my results, so I stapled a piece of 60 grit sandpaper on my 2x4 and that finally got it where I wanted it, and yes ya gotta trim all the long wires as you go.
