It seems that every time i measure my necks and than cut the foam to length, wrap the trachea and crop and than remeasure and cut to length again if needed my bird necks still seem to be coming out a little to long. Anyone else with this problem?

well i usually have a problem with the birds butt being to big.
The neck should go into the body a 1/2 inch or so...If you check your reference, you'll see what I mean...Also, are you putting a "S" curve into your neck? I'm not sure if you're having this problem with standing or flying? Even on flying mounts, you should have a little cure in your neck...And of course, make sure your measurements are correct...I hope this helps!
leave the neck attached to the body and measure the overall length from skull base to the tail.
The neck will look long if the skin isn't taxied toward the bill. And sometimes the neck is built too big and the feathers stay tight. Make sure the skin moves freely up and down the neck. If you can't easily move it your neck is too big and should be redone.
