What is the deal with Perma Plump from Van Dyke's. I ordered some and when I opened it tonight is doesn't say anything about Perma Plump, it just says Epo-Grip Injectable. There was a note in with the Epo-Grip that says Perma-Plump. Anyone use the Perma Plump and is it something different than Epo-Grip?

Pete Gierke uses jewlers towel to wrap up the birds body he made. I have not been able to find this item anywhere. When I ask for it people look at me like I've lost my mind. Does anyone know where to find this? Is it called by a different name? Thanks, Rope
It called jeweler's tow not towel.Or just ask for it as excelsior or wood wool and then they should know what your talking about.
Van Dykes name for the Epo-Grip Thin Set Injectable is Perma Plump. There are several distributor companies that have different names for our products. For instance John Rinehart calls our Clear Paste product "rigid fin"
Jewelers tow and wood wool [excelsior] are not the same product. Jewelers tow is a very fine {looks like dried out blond hair} that you can pull into strands to wrap your necking, excelsior {wood wool} is a somewhat abrasive slight shaving of wood, workable to the extent that I wrap all my bird and some mammal bodies out of it. It's coarse in texture and is readily available in most supply catalogs, where it's been bought to my attention that true jewelers tow is getting rather like hens teeth to acquire. Glad I saved a few 55 gallon drums of it when the old shop I apprenticed at closed up. Don't know what I'd do with out it.
