Van Dykes Quail kit

I have a few questions,

Is Borax all I need to preserve the Quail skin?
Do I need to get to the tips of the wings when skinning?

As of now I have skinned the bird (without any holes), inverted the skull and cleaned all meat and brains out, cleaned legs and cleaned wings out as far as where the 2 bones start. I need to stop and continue next weekend. Should I freeze it or can I leave it in a bag of borax until im ready to finish.

Thanks

For best results put the calander in a bag of borax (20 Mule team) and hang the quail on the wall until next weekend.

Borax is all you need.
You need to skin to the next joint after "where the two bones start".
Freeze the skin.
