Hello,
I'm wondering if the ground up corn cob sold by pet stores for use as bedding for reptiles is a suitable material for use in a tumbler?
Looking to avoid having to order from a supplier and pay big shipping charges.
Many thanks,
Jerry

thats what we use. We use the small grit by Sun Feed you can buy it in 5 to 50 lb bags. Dont know where you live but we get it for $22.00 for 50 lbs.

Virginia. Many pet stores around so I'll look around for the brand you suggested. Do you get yours at a large retail chain like PetSmart, or an independent?
Thanks again,
Jerry
I was wondering the same thing. I found some at wallmart but it looks way to course. Anyone ever try to tumble with this stuff found in the bird section?
I have used the Walmart stuff it works fine just cost way too much in small amounts. I get mine at Petland which is a chain down here dont know if ya'll have them up there or not but Sun Feed and Seed is a large supplier I think most pet store order from them.

again... I'll post back what I find.
I get mine from a local industrial supply store. They carry different grades of grit for sandblasting puposes. It's between .30 and .50 per pound depending on the coarseness (@ $15 per bag).
