I have a question concerning pheasant throat feathers. Of the various pheasants I have mounted, whether by artificial head or original skull I am not satisfied with the look of the feathers after the mounting procedure. The invariably do not lay down correctly , instead of following the pattern of the other head feathers, they appear rough , and stand on end. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What in my mounting procedure may I try differently? Thank You.

Your skin maybe to tight to the form or your neck material. Try making the neck thinner and also maybe a little shorter so the feathers lay better, you may be stretching the neck to far. We don't know without seeing the problem first hand..
perfect advice from tomdes!
Also be sure your fleshing well on the inside, if your not the flesh and membrane will dry and pull your feathers awry. No extra charge for the rhyme. Also besure to taxi neck skin foward after hes mounted.
Thank you for the insight,I'll try your ideas!
